Job summary

Joyous Kiddy Education Group is seeking a committed Speech Therapist to develop, recover or maintain the daily living and communication skills of children with physical, mental or developmental conditions.

You will provide client-centered services that enable kids to participate confidently and independently in everyday activities, with a holistic approach that adapts the environment to fit each child. The role involves collaborating with families, ongoing assessments, and progress documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Speech therapy.
• Registered with Malaysian Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA).
• At least 2 years of working experience in pediatrics.
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy.
• Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and commitment to continuous learning.
• Professional behavior and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Address children's performance to support engagement in activities affecting health and life quality.
• Select and adapt appropriate treatment models for interventions.
• Teach children new approaches and break tasks into achievable steps.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
• Educate families and caregivers.
• Observe, record, and report progress toward goals.
• Collect data and document processes.
• Regularly follow up on clients.

You will offer effective and client-centered services that will enable people to confidently and independently carry out everyday tasks or activities. The successful candidate will have a holistic perspective and will be able to adapt the environment to fit the person.

Responsibilities

• Address kids’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality.
• Select and adapt the appropriate per case occupational therapy treatment model, method and approach to direct the process of interventions
• Teach kids new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers
• Observe, note, and report on progress of long- and short-term treatment goals
• Collect data and document processes followed
• Regularly follow-up client

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Speech therapy or equivalent.
• Registered member in Malaysian Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA).
• At least 2 year of working experience in a similar capacity role especially in pediatrics field.
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
• Have current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession.
• Professional behavior.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
