Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre is seeking an Occupational Therapist to manage a clinical caseload, assess and treat patients, and ensure accurate medical records in line with legal and clinical requirements.

The role requires registration with relevant Malaysian professional bodies, teamwork, excellent communication, and a patient-centered approach to diverse conditions including neurology and pediatrics.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Registered with Malaysian Occupational Therapy Association.
• Registered with Malaysian Allied Health Professionals Board.
• Knowledge of management of conditions including neurology, developmental pediatrics and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Carry a clinical caseload involving assessment and treatment.
• Maintain accurate problem-oriented medical records.
• Report hazards in working conditions, equipment, and procedures.
• Make independent clinical decisions with support from senior staff.
• Attend and participate in MDT meetings and case conferences.
• Communicate relevant clinical information to MDT members.

• To carry a clinical caseload involving assessment and treatment.
• To ensure the keeping of up to date accurate problem orientated medical records to comply with legal and clinical requirements.
• To make known to the seniors, any deficiency in working conditions, equipment and procedures that may constitute a hazard to patients or staff and to ensure adequate precautions are instituted.
• To make independent clinical decisions and to evaluate examination outcomes with support from senior staff.
• To attend and participate in relevant multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case conferences.
• To communicate relevant clinical information to all members of the MDT within health and social services

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must have Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Registered with Malaysian Occupational Therapy Association
• Registered with Malaysian Allied Health Professionals Board
• General knowledge of Occupational management of various condition, eg Adult and Pediatric Neurology, Developmental pediatric, Psychology, General Medicine (Geriatric, Cardiac Rehab), Pressure garment and splintings
