Job summary

Nur Kidz Development. Therapy & Education in Johor Bahru seeks an occupational therapist to assess and support students within the school setting. You will write goals, develop plans, and deliver individual and group therapy aligned with IEP objectives.

Role requires clinical OT expertise, collaboration with IEP teams, and ability to translate assessments into practical strategies for students, families, and school staff.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Occupational Therapy (Preferred).
• Experience in Occupational Therapy: 1 year (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Administers occupational therapy assessments to determine a student’s level of functioning relative to age and placement.
• Writes assessment reports and individual student goals, maintains progress records, and participates in IEP meetings.
• Develops OT treatment plans and goals to improve functional abilities and learning.
• Provides individual and group OT sessions to address sensory-motor integration deficits.
• Collaborates with IEP team to align OT goals with educational objectives.
• Monitors therapy programs and evaluates effectiveness, modifying as needed within IEP framework.
• Demonstrates strategies to families for home intervention and summarizes assessment results.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to support student OT performance.
• Evaluates student abilities and forms occupational profiles using varied assessments and observations.
• Synthesizes results into reports guiding program development and intervention.
• Develops intervention plans based on student needs and evaluations.
• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to integrate findings and develop IEPs.
• Coordinates with IEP for appropriate treatments and attends IEP Team Meetings.

Nur Kidz Development. Therapy & Education – Johor Bahru, Johor

1. Administers occupational therapy assessments to determine a student’s level of functioning relative to their age and educational placement in such areas as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory motor integration, self-care, and the activities of daily living.

2. Writes assessment reports identifying the student’s needs and proposed treatment strategies; writes individual student goals and objectives as part of the IEP; maintains progress records; participates in the IEP meeting.

3. Develops occupational treatment plans and goals for rehabilitative care to improve student functional abilities and enhance their ability to learn.

4. Provides students with individual treatment and group therapy sessions to correct specific areas of sensory‑motor integrative dysfunction.

5. Develops occupational therapy treatment plans based on the educational goals for eligible students to improve the student’s functional abilities within the school and naturalistic settings, in collaboration with the IEP team.

6. Monitors therapy programs and consults with educational staff regarding inclusion of appropriate occupational therapy treatment strategies into the educational program; evaluates the efficacy of the established program and makes modifications within the framework of the IEP process as necessary.

7. Demonstrates educational and developmental strategies to students and families for successful home intervention of perceptual, motor, and sensory programs. Provides interpretation and summaries of assessment reports to families; recommends appropriate activities and materials designed to support motor goals in the home.

8. Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs, through evaluation, educational program planning, and service delivery.

9. Evaluates the student’s ability and formulates the student’s occupational profile through a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories, and interviews.
10. Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment, directs program development and guides evidence‑based intervention.

11. Develops occupationally based intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results.

12. Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual education plans and intervention plans to achieve IEP goals.

13. Coordinates with the IEP team for the purpose of determining appropriate treatments, etc. to meet the needs of specific students and attends IEP Team Meetings.
