Job summary

YAYASAN MUHIBBAH BERHAD in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan, is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher for a full-time role. You will develop personalised education plans, assess progress, and collaborate with families and staff to support diverse learners in an inclusive environment.

The role requires a teaching qualification in special education or related training, and experience with students with autism, learning disabilities, and other needs. English and Malay proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification in Special Education or a recognised teacher training qualification with specialisation in special needs education.
• Experience teaching students with diverse special educational needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create differentiated lesson plans.
• Proficiency in English and Malay; others advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver individualised educational programmes based on each student's learning profile and needs.
• Assess students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with mainstream teachers, parents and support staff.
• Implement evidence-based teaching methodologies for special needs.
• Create accessible and engaging learning materials.
• Monitor and record student development and outcomes for planning.
• Provide emotional and behavioural support in a safe environment.
• Liaise with external specialists and medical professionals.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teacher to join YAYASAN MUHIBBAH BERHAD in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan. As a Special Needs Teacher, you will be at the heart of our mission to support and empower students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive personalised education tailored to their unique abilities and aspirations. Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver individualised educational programmes based on each student's learning profile and specific needs
• Assess students' progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies and materials accordingly to ensure continuous improvement
• Collaborate with mainstream teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure consistency in approach and support across all settings
• Implement evidence-based teaching methodologies and interventions appropriate for students with special educational needs
• Create and adapt learning materials and resources that are accessible and engaging for students with varying abilities
• Monitor and record student development, behaviour and learning outcomes to inform educational planning
• Provide emotional and behavioural support to students, fostering a safe and inclusive classroom environment
• Liaise with external specialists, educational psychologists, and medical professionals to coordinate comprehensive support
• Participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in special education
• Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and student records

What we're looking for

• Teaching qualification in Special Education or a recognised teacher training qualification with specialisation in special needs education
• Proven experience working with students with diverse special educational needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and emotional or behavioural difficulties
• Strong knowledge of special education pedagogies, assessment methods, and support strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, colleagues and external agencies
• Patience, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting each student's individual development
• Ability to create differentiated lesson plans and adapt teaching materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Proficiency in English and Malay; additional languages are advantageous
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills, including experience with Individual Education Plans
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Current knowledge of relevant special education legislation, policies and best practices in Malaysia
