Job summary

Brain Activation is seeking a passionate Special Needs Teacher to join our Early Intervention team in Malaysia. The role involves working with young children with developmental delays, delivering individualized support, and implementing structured interventions to boost cognitive, communication, social, emotional, and adaptive skills.

Key duties include planning IEPs, running 1-to-1 and small-group sessions, monitoring progress, and adapting materials for diverse learners.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field such as Special Education, Early Childhood Education or Psychology.
  • Experience in early intervention or working with children with special needs is preferred.
  • Able to communicate in Mandarin due to families with language barriers.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and developmental milestones.
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each child's developmental needs.
  • Conduct structured early intervention sessions (one-to-one and small groups).
  • Support children with speech delays, ASD, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
  • Monitor, assess, and document students' progress regularly.
  • Prepare teaching materials and adapt curriculum to suit different learning abilities.
  • Collaborate with therapists, shadow aides, and parents.
  • Provide guidance and strategies to parents for home support.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Participate in case discussions, meetings, and professional development.

The teacher will work closely with young children with developmental delays and learning differences, providing individualized support and structured intervention to enhance their cognitive, communication, social, emotional, and adaptive skills.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each child's developmental needs

  • Support children with speech delays, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, global developmental delay, and other learning challenges
  • Monitor, assess, and document students' progress regularly
  • Prepare teaching materials and adapt curriculum to suit different learning abilities
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, shadow aides, and parents
  • Provide guidance and strategies to parents for home support
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Participate in case discussions, meetings, and professional development
About you
