Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a dedicated educator to support students with special needs. You will teach individually or in groups, plan and update IEPs and EIPs, and prepare progress reports to share with parents.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support academic, social, and behavioral development, attending trainings and meetings as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology or related field.
• Bachelor's degree is an advantage.
• Prior experience with children with special needs is an advantage.
• Ability to prepare progress reports and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

• Teach students individually, in groups, or classroom settings according to learning needs.
• Plan and update each student's IEP and EIP.
• Prepare progress reports (Emotional Behavior, Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Term).
• Communicate progress to parents/guardians and provide guidance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support student development.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and perform duties as assigned.

Job Scope

1. Teach students individually, in small groups, or in classroom settings according to their learning needs.
2. Plan, implement, and update each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Early Intervention Program (EIP).
3. Prepare student progress reports, including Emotional Behavior Reports, Monthly Progress Reports, Bi-Monthly Reports, and Term Progress Reports.
4. Apply appropriate teaching strategies and methods to support students' academic, social, and behavioral development.
5. Communicate with parents or guardians regarding students' progress and provide the necessary guidance and support.
6. Collaborate with teachers, Interventionists, Occupational Therapists (OT), Physiotherapists (PT), and Speech-Language Therapists (ST) to support students' overall development.
7. Attend meetings, training sessions, and programs related to job responsibilities.
8. Perform any other duties as assigned by the management from time to time.

Requirements

1. Minimum Diploma in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field. A Bachelor's Degree is an advantage.
2. Prior experience working with children with special needs is an advantage.
3. Basic knowledge of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Early Intervention Programs (EIPs).
4. Good communication skills, with patience, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
6. Able to prepare student progress reports and maintain accurate documentation.
7. Willing to attend training and continuously develop knowledge and skills in special education.
