Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher for Primary to commence in January 2027. You will provide targeted academic, behavioral, social and emotional support to students with additional learning needs.

Collaborate with class teachers to develop and implement IEPs, deliver lessons, manage the classroom, and communicate with parents. The role involves planning for varied year groups and may include after-hours school events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • PGCE or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience (international school preferred).
  • Experience with students with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small-group learning support to SEN students.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with class/subject teachers to support curriculum access.
  • Plan and deliver lessons for varied year groups and abilities.
  • Organize classroom and resources to create a positive learning environment.
  • Undertake pastoral duties and act as form tutor when required.
  • Manage student behaviour and apply corrective measures as needed.
  • Motivate students with engaging and interactive presentations.
  • Prepare and mark work to track progress.
  • Communicate student progress with parents and attend meetings.
  • Coordinate activities within the curriculum area and assist colleagues.
  • Organize school events, outings, and after-hours activities.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher - Primary

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher is required to commence inJanuary 2027.We are seekingsuitably qualifiedteachers who is responsible for providing targeted academic, behavioral, social and emotional support to students with additional learning needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide individual and small-group learning support to students with additional learning needs.

Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Work closely with class/subject teachers to support students in accessing the curriculum.

Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes of different year groups and abilities.

Organizing the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment

Undertaking pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting students on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties.

Managing student behaviour in the classroom and on school premises,and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour.

Motivating students with enthusiastic, interactive presentation

Preparing and marking work to facilitate positive students' development

Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of students' development

Communicating with parents over students' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' meeting and whole school training events.

Coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area

Organizing and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Possess a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Education or related field.

Preferably with Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent.

At least 2 year(s) of teaching experience in an international school is preferred.

Experience working with students with special educational needs.
