Job summary

WINSTAR ALUMINIUM MANUFACTURING SDN BHD is seeking an Electrical Engineer to assist in system sizing for solar mounting, design SLDs, and perform load flow/fault analyses for PV projects. You will guide customers, troubleshoot on-site issues, and conduct site visits to ensure quality installations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, familiarity with AutoCAD/SolidWorks, and ST PW4 license with GCPV Chargeman or Wireman preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline is required.
• Experience with solar PV systems is preferred; training will be provided.
• Valid ST PW4 License with GCPV Chargeman or Wireman certification is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD/3D modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is expected.
• Familiarity with TNB Interconnection Guidelines and ST & SEDA licensing processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to travel for on-site service and support visits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in system sizing for solar mounting and inverter solutions.
• Design and endorse electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs) for solar PV systems.
• Perform load flow calculations, fault level analysis, and cable sizing.
• Provide technical data and guidance to customers as needed.
• Support troubleshooting of inverter alarms and system issues.
• Conduct site visits as required.
• Inspect solar mounting installations for quality and compliance.
• Perform electrical testing (voltage checks, insulation tests, etc.).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot inverter, battery, or system issues on-site.
• Provide installation briefings to customers.
• QC / Product Support: perform incoming product inspections and verify specifications against datasheets.
• Documentation & Reporting: assist in testing & commissioning activities; prepare as-built drawings and reports.
• Ad-hoc Tasks: perform other tasks or assignments as requested by management.
