Job summary

Solana Tec is expanding its solar and sustainable energy team in Johor Bahru. We seek a Project Engineer to coordinate and supervise solar PV installation and ensure compliance with drawings, SOPs and standards.

You will troubleshoot site issues, liaise with contractors, customers and internal teams, and oversee testing and handover processes. Fresh graduates with strong fundamentals are welcome; English and Mandarin communication is preferred to support diverse client needs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of engineering experience preferred; fresh graduates with strong technical fundamentals are welcome.
• Good problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
• Responsible, organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin preferred for customer communications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise solar PV installation and site activities.
• Ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, quality standards and SOPs.
• Troubleshoot technical and site issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Work closely with contractors, customers and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Ensure testing, documentation and project close-out are completed before handover.
• Take ownership of site quality, safety and project delivery.
• Prepare solar PV engineering drawings, layouts, SLD and technical documentation.
• Perform system sizing, engineering calculations and equipment selection.
• Ensure designs comply with technical standards, authority requirements and actual site conditions.
• Coordinate design changes and provide technical support to the project team.
• Monitor and analyse solar system performance after installation.
• Investigate abnormal generation or technical issues and coordinate solutions.
• Provide clear technical explanations to customers regarding system design and performance.
