Job summary

DJR Power Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) designer to develop layouts, SLDs and electrical drawings for solar projects. You will size systems, select modules and components, and ensure designs meet standards while coordinating with project teams to meet site deadlines.

Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; knowledge of PV design software is a plus. Excellent communication and ability to handle industrial PV projects are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Solar GCPV system design.
• Experience designing solar PV systems with a system size of 72kW and above.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; PV design software knowledge is a plus.
• Able to read and prepare electrical drawings, layouts, and SLD.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet project deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Experience with commercial/industrial PV projects is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) systems per requirements and site conditions.
• Prepare detailed solar PV layouts, SLDs, electrical drawings, and technical docs.
• Conduct site assessments and evaluate conditions for PV system design.
• Size systems and select PV modules, inverters, cables, protection devices, and other components.
• Ensure designs comply with electrical standards and project specs.
• Prepare design calculations, material specs, and BOQ when required.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, and site teams for smooth implementation.
• Review and revise drawings based on site conditions and requirements.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities on technical matters.
