Job summary

DJR Power Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Grid-Connected PV design engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design and size GCPV systems for commercial and industrial sites. You will create detailed layouts, SLDs, and electrical drawings while validating site conditions and integration with project teams.

The role requires at least 2 years in solar GCPV design, proficiency with AutoCAD, and strong electrical engineering fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Solar GCPV system design.
• Experience designing solar PV systems with a system size of 72kW and above.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV system design and electrical engineering principles.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of PV design software is a plus.
• Able to read and prepare electrical drawings, layouts, and SLDs.
• Good understanding of electrical protection, cabling, inverter selection, and PV components.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) systems according to project requirements and site conditions.
• Prepare detailed solar PV system layouts, SLDs, electrical drawings, and related technical documentation.
• Conduct site assessments and evaluate site conditions for solar PV system design.
• Perform system sizing and select appropriate PV modules, inverters, cables, protection devices, and other components.
• Ensure designs comply with electrical standards, technical requirements, and project specs.
• Prepare design calculations, material specs, and BOQs as required.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, and site teams for smooth implementation.
• Review and revise drawings based on site conditions and project needs.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities on technical and design matters.

• Able to read and prepare electrical drawings, layouts, and Single-Line Diagrams (SLD).
• Good understanding of electrical protection, cabling, inverter selection, and PV system components.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work according to project deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Experience with commercial or industrial solar PV projects is an added advantage.
