Job summary

DJR Power Sdn Bhd is seeking a Solar GCPV Design Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design Grid-Connected PV systems (72kW+). You will prepare layouts, SLDs, and drawings, assess sites, size systems, and select modules, inverters, and cables.

You will ensure compliance with standards and coordinate with project teams. The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong electrical knowledge, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to read electrical drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Solar GCPV system design.
• Must have experience designing solar PV systems with a system size of 72kW and above.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV system design and electrical engineering principles.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of PV design software is an added advantage.
• Able to read and prepare electrical drawings, layouts, and SLD.
• Good understanding of electrical protection, cabling, inverter selection, and PV components.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work to project deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Experience with commercial or industrial solar PV projects is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) systems according to project requirements and site conditions.
• Prepare detailed solar PV system layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical drawings, and related technical documentation.
• Conduct site assessments and evaluate site conditions for solar PV system design.
• Perform system sizing and select appropriate PV modules, inverters, cables, protection devices, and other electrical components.
• Ensure solar system designs comply with relevant electrical standards, technical requirements, and project specifications.
• Prepare design calculations, material specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) where required.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, and site teams to ensure smooth implementation of designs.
• Review and revise drawings based on site conditions and project requirements.
• Provide technical support to the project team during installation and commissioning.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and other relevant parties on technical and design matters.
