Job summary

Ecopower Dynamics (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Solar & EV Systems Engineer (Electrical & Electronic) to design LV/MV power systems and EV charger integration, ensuring protection coordination and compliance for residential, commercial/industrial, and solar farm projects.

You'll review drawings, calculations, and method statements, detect design issues, and provide technical solutions. Experience with interconnection/Submissions is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant hands-on engineering experience in Solar PV systems.
• Strong working knowledge of LV/MV power systems, protection systems and coordination, earthing and lightning protection concepts, and EV charger integration and load impact.
• Able to work independently with minimal or no guidance.
• Able to detect and correct engineering mistakes, including those made by others.

Responsibilities

• LV & MV cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit and fault level calculations.
• Protection coordination (MCB, MCCB, ACB, relays, CT/VT selection and settings).
• Earthing and lightning protection system design and assessment.
• Structural and mechanical checks for mounting systems and equipment layout.
• Design and assess engineering solutions for Residential, C&I, and solar farm projects.
• EV charging infrastructure (AC & DC chargers), load assessment, diversity factor, and MD impact.
• Engineering Review & Error Detection: review drawings, single-line diagrams, calculations, and method statements.
• Identify and rectify design errors, incorrect assumptions, non-compliance, or unsafe practices.
• Challenge and correct engineering decisions when required, including internal proposals.
• Regulatory & Compliance: ensure designs/installations meet TNB guidelines; support submissions/inspections with authorities.
• Technical Support & Decision Making: act as internal technical reference for Solar PV and EV charger matters.
• Provide engineering judgement on complex/non-standard design cases and support troubleshooting.
