Ecopower Dynamics (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Solar & EV Systems Engineer (Electrical & Electronic) to design LV/MV power systems and EV charger integration, ensuring protection coordination and compliance for residential, commercial/industrial, and solar farm projects.
You'll review drawings, calculations, and method statements, detect design issues, and provide technical solutions. Experience with interconnection/Submissions is valued.
LV & MV cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit and fault level calculations
Protection coordination (MCB, MCCB, ACB, relays, CT/VT selection and settings)
Earthing and lightning protection system design and assessment
Structural and mechanical checks for mounting systems and equipment layout
Design and assess engineering solutions for:
Residential, C&I, and solar farm projects
EV charging infrastructure (AC & DC chargers), including load assessment, diversity factor, and maximum demand (MD) impact
Engineering Review & Error Detection
Review engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, calculations, and method statements prepared by internal teams, consultants, or contractors
Identify and rectify design errors, incorrect assumptions, non-compliance, or unsafe engineering practices
Challenge and correct engineering decisions when required, including internal proposals
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure all designs and installations comply with:
TNB technical guidelines and connection requirements
Support technical submissions, approvals, inspections, and technical clarifications with authorities and utilities
Technical Support & Decision Making
Act as the internal technical reference point for all Solar PV and EV charger-related engineering matters
Provide engineering judgement on complex or non-standard design cases
Support troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and post-installation technical issues
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant hands-on engineering experience in:
Solar PV systems (Residential, C&I, and/or Utility-scale)
Electrical power systems design and calculation
Strong working knowledge of:
LV/MV power systems
Protection systems and coordination
Earthing and lightning protection concepts
EV charger electrical integration and load impact
Able to work independently with minimal or no guidance
Able to detect and correct engineering mistakes, including those made by others
Experience with EV charging infrastructure projects
Familiar with TNB interconnection, ST submission and inspection processes
Exposure to solar farm or large-scale C&I projects
Strong engineering judgement and attention to detail
Willing to challenge incorrect technical decisions
High level of accountability for engineering outcomes
