Job summary

Mesiniaga Berhad is seeking a detail-orientated Software Tester to ensure the quality and functionality of our software products through rigorous testing and analysis.

You will prepare and maintain RTM, derive comprehensive test scenarios, and develop detailed test cases and data. The role covers functional, system integration, end-to-end and regression testing, with involvement in UAT, FAT and PAT activities to gather sign-off evidence.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of software testing experience in web-based and mobile platforms.
• Experience with RTM (Requirement Traceability Matrix) and TSP (Test Scenario Preparation).
• Ability to translate requirements into test scenarios and cases.
• Experience in functional, system, regression testing and defect management.
• Experience preparing test evidence and documenting results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain RTM linking requirements to functions, test scenarios, test cases, execution results and defects.
• Prepare and update Test Scenario Preparation with positive, negative, role-based, integration and end-to-end scenarios.
• Develop and maintain detailed test cases, test scripts, test data, expected results and execution evidence.
• Execute functional, system integration, end-to-end and regression testing.
• Support UAT, FAT and PAT activities including data preparation, test cases and sign-off evidence.
• Identify, document and track defects with steps to reproduce, results, severity and links to RTM.
• Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing to ensure fixes didn’t affect existing functions.
• Maintain daily testing status, results, and defect evidence.
• Ensure all test artifacts are complete, version-controlled and audit-ready.
• Understand SDLC/STLC and testing methodologies; identify gaps and unclear results.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools; proficient in Excel and Word.

Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products through rigorous testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) and ensuring requirements are linked to the relevant functions, test scenarios, test cases, execution results and defects.
• Prepare and update the Test Scenario Preparation (TSP) by deriving positive, negative, role-based, integration and end-to-end scenarios.
• Develop and maintain detailed test cases, test scripts, test data, expected results and execution evidence.
• Execute functional, system integration, end-to-end and regression testing.
• Support UAT, FAT and PAT activities, including test data preparation, test cases, scenario walkthroughs, execution monitoring, defect clarification, retesting and collection of sign‑off evidence.
• Identify, document and track defects with clear reproduction steps, actual and expected results, severity, supporting evidence, and links to the RTM.
• Retest resolved defects and performed relevant regression testing to confirm that fixes do not affect existing system functions.
• Maintain accurate daily testing status, test execution results, defect updates, and defect evidence.
• Ensure all assigned test artifacts are complete, version‑controlled, reviewable and suitable for client and audit review.
• Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), testing methodologies and defect lifecycle.
• Ability to identify basic requirement gaps, unclear expected results, missing scenarios and inconsistent system behavior.
• Understanding of test design techniques such as positive and negative testing, boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning and role‑based testing.
• Familiarity with test management, defect tracking and collaboration tools, with good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for QA documentation.
• Good attention to detail, analytical thinking, documentation discipline and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, manage assigned tasks and meet testing deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new business processes, testing tools, and automation practices.

Requirements

• Studies background in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of software testing experience in web‑based and mobile platform.
• Practical knowledge of preparing or maintaining a Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) and Test Scenario Preparation (TSP).
• Must understand how requirements are translated into test scenarios and test cases.
• Basic experience reviewing business requirements, workflows or process diagrams and converting them into test scenarios and test cases.
• Exposure to functional testing, system testing, regression testing, UAT, PAT and FAT support, and defect management.
• Experience preparing structured test evidence and clearly documenting test results is required.
