Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Software Programmer with a strong background in manufacturing IT and software development to join our team in Penang.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in manufacturing IT/software environments, with hands‑on expertise in C++, C#/.NET, VB6, SQL, and Oracle. The candidate should be comfortable working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Equipment teams to develop, support, and maintain reliable software solutions for production environments.

Experience with manufacturing communication protocols such as SECS/GEM and MQTT, along with strong troubleshooting and IT service management skills, will be an advantage.

We are also looking for candidates who demonstrate a genuine interest in AI transformation and its application to manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain software applications supporting manufacturing and production operations.

Develop and maintain applications using C++, C#/.NET, and VB6.

Develop and optimize SQL queries, database procedures, and application integrations using SQL and Oracle.

Analyze business and manufacturing requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.

Perform software testing, debugging, deployment, and ongoing application maintenance.

Ensure software solutions are reliable, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with production requirements.

Manufacturing Systems & Integration

Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Equipment, and IT teams to deliver production‑critical software solutions.

Support the integration of software applications with manufacturing equipment and production systems.

Troubleshoot application and system issues affecting manufacturing operations.

Contribute to improvements in manufacturing systems, production workflows, and operational efficiency.

Experience with SECS/GEM and MQTT protocols is highly advantageous.

IT Operations & Service Management

Support IT service management processes, including incident, problem, event, change, and release management.

Perform root cause analysis for recurring application and production issues.

Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve system stability and reliability.

Participate in software releases, change implementation, and production support activities.

Maintain appropriate technical documentation and operational procedures.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Work effectively with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and resolve technical challenges.

Communicate technical issues, solutions, and project status clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of software and manufacturing solutions.

AI & Digital Transformation

Required Skills & Qualifications

4+ years of professional experience in software development within a manufacturing IT or production environment.

Strong hands‑on programming experience with one or more of the following:

Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform effective root cause analysis.
