As a Principal Software Development Engineer at D-SIMLAB Technologies, you will play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and enhancing innovative software solutions for world-leading semiconductor manufacturers.
This is a senior technical and client-facing role that goes beyond software development. You will take ownership of critical software components, contribute to software architecture and technical decisions, provide technical guidance to the engineering team, and work closely with customers to understand and solve complex challenges in semiconductor manufacturing.

The successful candidate will support existing customers in Malaysia and may be required to travel within the region for customer engagements and software implementation projects.

Key Responsibilities
1. Software Product Development, Deployment and Delivery
Lead and participate in the development, deployment, and delivery of D-SIMLAB's software products at semiconductor manufacturing sites.
Work closely with Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and domain experts to deliver robust and scalable software solutions.
Take ownership of technical deliverables and ensure projects are completed to a high standard and within agreed timelines.
Work directly with global semiconductor customers to understand their technical and operational requirements.
2. Software Architecture and Product Enhancement
Design and develop scalable, high-performance, and maintainable software components.
Contribute to software architecture, technical design, and key engineering decisions.
Drive continuous improvement of existing products, including data visualization, algorithms, system performance, and user experience.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Explore and adopt new technologies that can improve software capabilities and support semiconductor manufacturing applications.
3. Semiconductor Manufacturing Solutions
Develop a strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and operational challenges.
Translate semiconductor manufacturing requirements into effective software solutions.
Work with customers to understand production processes, operational constraints, and business objectives.
Apply software engineering, simulation, data analytics, and optimization techniques to address complex manufacturing problems.
Continuously develop domain knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing and emerging smart manufacturing technologies.
4. Client Consultation and Technical Support
Act as a senior technical point of contact for semiconductor customers during software implementation and deployment projects.
Provide technical consultation and recommendations to help customers implement and optimize D-SIMLAB's solutions within their manufacturing operations.
Lead technical discussions with clients and translate operational requirements into practical software solutions.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and work with internal teams to resolve problems effectively.
Build strong and professional relationships with customers and stakeholders.
5. Technical Leadership and Mentoring
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Software Engineers and junior team members.
Conduct code reviews and promote best practices in software development, architecture, testing, and troubleshooting.
Lead technical discussions and contribute to engineering standards and development processes.
Support the team in solving complex technical and domain-related challenges.
Candidate Requirements
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Semiconductor Industry Knowledge & Interest
Strong interest in the semiconductor industry and semiconductor manufacturing.
Good understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, production operations, or manufacturing systems is highly desirable.
Candidates with previous experience working in the semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, automation, industrial engineering, manufacturing systems, or related industries are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience working with semiconductor manufacturing customers, fabs, production systems, manufacturing execution systems (MES), scheduling, simulation, optimization, or factory automation will be an advantage.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn complex semiconductor manufacturing processes and translate domain requirements into software solutions.

Technical Skills
Strong and proven experience in C#, .NET, and SQL.
Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
Solid experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems.
Strong experience designing and developing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software systems.
Experience with data visualization frameworks and tools.
Experience in system integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Experience with simulation, optimization, data analytics, or manufacturing-related software is an advantage.
Work Experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in software development or a related engineering role.
Proven experience designing and developing complex software applications and systems.
Demonstrated experience taking ownership of major software components or technical projects.
Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders in a technical consulting, implementation, or solution delivery environment is highly desirable.
Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to other software engineers is an advantage.
Experience working in the semiconductor or advanced manufacturing industry is strongly preferred.
