Job summary

Ambition Recruitment client seeks an experienced Software Engineer (Java) to lead the full lifecycle delivery of API-powered platforms and modern web applications. You will design and build REST-based APIs with Spring Boot while coordinating with international teams to shape architecture and ensure security and performance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java development experience with Java 17/21;

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of API-powered platforms and web apps for performance, scalability and security;
• Design and build robust REST-based APIs with maintainability in mind;
• Collaborate with senior designers to translate UX concepts into technically sound solutions;
• Uphold engineering excellence through coding standards, CI/CD and secure delivery practices;
• Work with international teams to shape architecture and drive key technology decisions;

They're seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Java) to lead the full-cycle delivery of critical API-powered platforms and modern web applications.

The Role:

• Own the full lifecycle of critical API-powered platforms and web applications, ensuring performance, scalability, and security
• Design and build robust REST-based APIs with a focus on maintainability and reliability
• Partner with senior design stakeholders to ensure UX concepts translate into technically viable, well-architected engineering solutions
• Uphold engineering excellence through coding standards, CI/CD pipeline management, and secure delivery practices
• Work alongside international engineering teams to shape architectural direction, support integrations, and inform key technology decisions

What We're Looking For:

• Hands-on Java development experience, with strong proficiency in Java 17 or 21 (essential)
• Practical experience with React for front-end development (essential)
• Strong command of REST API development and Spring Boot
• A solid understanding of cloud-native application security principles
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or generative/agentic AI concepts (a bonus)
• Strong self-management skills, with the ability to stay focused and deliver under pressure
• Strong written and spoken English for cross-regional collaboration
