Ambition Recruitment is partnering with a global organisation seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to lead the end-to-end delivery of API-powered platforms and modern web applications.

The role requires strong Java development (Java 17/21) and React expertise, with REST APIs, Spring Boot, and cloud-native security. Hybrid work (3 days in office, 2 at home) is offered with medical coverage, a flexi plan, flexible holidays, and free parking.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java development experience (Java 17/21).
• Proficient React skills for front-end development.

Responsibilities

• Take senior ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of API-driven platforms and modern web applications.
• Architect and deliver robust REST-based APIs with focus on scalability, performance, maintainability, and security.
• Act as the technical authority for senior design stakeholders and translate UX ambitions into deliverable engineering solutions.
• Champion engineering best practices, including coding standards, code quality, CI/CD, and secure delivery.
• Drive strategic technology decisions in collaboration with global teams and contribute to architecture direction.

The Role

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands-on Java development experience, specifically with Java 17 or 21 (essential)
• Proven React skills for front-end development (essential)
• Solid experience with REST API development and Spring Boot
• A deep understanding of secure, cloud-native application development
• Any familiarity with AI-assisted engineering or generative/agentic AI is a welcome bonus
• The ability to manage workload independently and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent written and spoken English to support effective cross-regional collaboration
