Job summary

Ambition is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to lead the full-cycle delivery of API-driven platforms and modern web applications. You will own architecture, guide implementation, and ensure secure, scalable delivery across a global team.

You'll balance technical depth with leadership, collaborating with stakeholders to translate UX goals into solid engineering solutions while championing code quality and best practices.

The Role

• Take senior ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of business-critical API-driven platforms and modern web applications
• Architect and deliver robust REST-based APIs, balancing scalability, performance, maintainability, and security
• Act as the technical authority for senior design stakeholders, translating UX ambitions into sound, deliverable engineering solutions
• Champion engineering best practices - from coding standards and code quality to CI/CD pipeline management and secure delivery
• Drive strategic technology decisions in collaboration with global teams, contributing to integration activities and architecture direction

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on Java development experience, specifically with Java 17 or 21 (essential)
• Proven React skills for front-end development (essential)
• Solid experience with REST API development and Spring Boot
• A deep understanding of secure, cloud-native application development
• Any familiarity with AI-assisted engineering or generative/agentic AI is a welcome bonus
• The ability to manage workload independently and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent written and spoken English to support effective cross-regional collaboration
