Job summary

Yinson GreenTech is hiring a Software Engineer in Kuala Lumpur who will design and ships fast, scalable, real‑time event‑driven applications. You will build and support microservices, deploy cloud‑native platforms, and ensure end‑to‑end quality from secure coding to reviews.

You will collaborate in Agile teams, apply AI tools to improve development, and work with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern cloud tech to drive impactful transportation electrification projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT or Computer Science.
• 1–3 years hands‑on development experience in IT/Software.
• Strong Python and NodeJS for real‑time, event‑driven systems.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms and microservices.
• Solid secure coding practices and Linux familiarity.

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Software Engineer who loves building things that are fast, resilient, and built to scale. You’ll be in the thick of it — designing and shipping large-scale, real-time, event-driven applications that power our business. This isn’t a cog-in-the-machine role: your ideas will be heard, your code will go live, and your impact will be visible from day one.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and ship large-scale, real-time, event-driven applications
• Design, maintain and support services using a microservices approach
• Build performant, cloud native platforms
• Own quality end to end — from secure coding and unit testing to code reviews
• Leverage modern AI tools and technologies to accelerate development, improve code quality, and solve complex problems faster
• Collaborate in Agile teams across the full software development lifecycle

Qualification And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT or Computer Science
• 1 to 3 years of hands‑on development experience in the IT/Software industry
• Strong programming skills in Python (including FastAPI and Django frameworks) and NodeJS, especially for real-time, event-driven systems
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases
• Experience building software on a microservices architecture
• Hands‑on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Solid grasp of secure coding practices
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
• Experience with unit testing (Pytest, Jest) and Git/BitBucket source control
• Familiarity with all phases of the software development lifecycle
• Great communication skills and a genuine team player attitude
• A curiosity for emerging AI tools and technologies, and an eagerness to apply them to real-world challenges in transportation electrification
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with code analysis tools (Bandit, SonarQube etc.)
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, etc.
