Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a capable Production Lead to direct a team of operators on the manufacturing floor in Penang. You will drive machine utilization, monitor production, troubleshoot issues, and support SMT line operations to meet daily targets.

The role requires a Diploma/technical qualification with at least 2 years in SMT/manufacturing, strong leadership, and excellent time management under pressure. You will ensure clean, well-maintained equipment and accurate production records.

Qualifications

• Diploma / technical qualification or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 2 years of SMT or manufacturing environment experience.
• Good understanding of SMT processes and production flow.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of operators to achieve quality, schedule, yield, and productivity targets.
• Assist the SMT Supervisor in managing the production line as needed or instructed.
• Drive machine utilization and operational efficiency with minimal downtime.
• Monitor and adjust production processes to optimize efficiency and output.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and equipment malfunctions.
• Support setup and operation of machines as needed.
• Escalate issues to the SMT Production Supervisor, especially with high fallout.
• Meet or exceed daily production standards set by the SMT Production Supervisor.
• Identify and develop potential operators to handle appropriate equipment and encourage high throughput, quality, and efficiency.
• Ensure all production machinery is maintained in good working condition.
• Maintain a clean work environment and ensure equipment cleanliness at all times.
• Accurately and promptly complete all production records and reports.
• Guide and support operators in developing the skills required for their roles.
• Monitor and update hourly production status.
• Perform any ad-hoc tasks as assigned by your direct superior.
