Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Penang is seeking an experienced Senior SMT Production Manager to oversee daily SMT assembly operations, ensuring efficiency, quality and on-time delivery. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, driving performance across production lines.

You will implement optimized manufacturing processes, monitor KPIs, and lead root cause analyses, while supporting NPI initiatives and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 8+ years of SMT manufacturing experience.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience with Automotive IATF 16949 and Medical ISO 13485 environments is advantageous.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of SMT processes and related equipment.

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily production for SMT assembly to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of products.

Lead a group of SMT engineers and technicians to support daily production and indicators.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.

Implement and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

Support new product introductions (NPI) by setting up and validating new processes and equipment.

Monitor production data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process and equipment-related issues.

Conduct skills gap analyses for engineers and technicians. Develop individual development plans.

Develop equipment health monitoring, spare parts and lifecycle management plan.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies, including safety and quality requirements.

Qualification & Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in SMT manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Candidates with experience in Automotive IATF 16949 and Medical ISO 13485 environments will have an added advantage.

Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in SMT processes, production equipment, and manufacturing operations, including SMT placement, solder paste printing, reflow, SPI, AOI, and related processes.
