Jora Malaysia is seeking a Production Manager to plan and oversee SMT manufacturing. You will develop daily to monthly production plans and coordinate across planning, engineering, quality, and maintenance to ensure on-time delivery.
The role requires a degree in Electrical/Electronic or Manufacturing Engineering, at least 3 years in SMT, and a proven track record in lean manufacturing and IPC/ESD practices. You will lead teams, drive improvements, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly SMT production plans to meet customer delivery requirements.
Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth production operations.
Optimize line balancing, machine setup, manpower allocation, and production flow to maximize output and efficiency.
Oversee SMT processes including stencil printing, solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, AOI/AXI inspection, and functional testing.
Ensure all production activities comply with SOPs, work instructions, process parameters, and quality requirements.
Monitor key production KPIs including output, yield, FPY, line efficiency, downtime, cycle time, and OEE.
Ensure SMT production meets IPC standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements.
Drive defect reduction through root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and effective process controls.
Collaborate with Quality and Process Engineering teams to improve FPY, process capability, and overall product quality.
Control production costs by minimizing material wastage, scrap, rework, downtime, and inefficient resource utilization.
Optimize manpower, equipment, and production capacity to achieve targets within budget.
Ensure effective control and utilization of SMT consumables, including solder paste, stencils, and other production materials.
Lead, motivate, coach, and develop Production Supervisors, Engineers, Technicians, and Operators to achieve production and quality targets.
Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, communicate priorities, and resolve operational issues.
Identify skill gaps and coordinate appropriate technical training to strengthen team capabilities and support continuous improvement.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
Lead improvement projects to increase throughput, reduce changeover time, minimize downtime, and enhance equipment performance.
Work closely with Engineering teams to evaluate new technologies, automation, and process improvements to strengthen SMT manufacturing capability.
Ensure compliance with ESD control procedures, workplace safety requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Conduct regular safety and workplace audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively and promptly.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational discipline.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in SMT manufacturing, with experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven experience in high-mix and/or high-volume SMT production environments.
Strong knowledge of SMT production processes, equipment, and manufacturing operations.
Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards and ESD control practices.
Ability to analyze production data such as yield, FPY, cycle time, downtime, and OEE and implement improvement actions.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles.
Strong leadership, people management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments.
Able to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Willing to work overtime, shifts, weekends, or public holidays when required to support production demands.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 is an added advantage.
