Job summary

MFS Technology in Batu Berendam, Melaka is seeking an SMT Engineer to join our engineering team. This full-time role focuses on designing, developing and optimising SMT processes and PCB assembly to ensure high quality, efficiency and reliability in electronics manufacturing.

You will work across functions to implement improvements, document procedures and support product testing to meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronics/Manufacturing Engineering.
2-3 years hands-on SMT assembly/PCB manufacturing experience.
Strong knowledge of SMT equipment (placement machines, reflow ovens, wave soldering, inspection).
Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts.
Familiarity with IPC soldering standards (IPC-A-J-STD-001).
Experience with ERP systems for process tracking and documentation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and optimise SMT processes to improve production efficiency, yield rates and product quality.
Conduct feasibility studies for new PCB designs and assembly requirements.
Establish and maintain SMT equipment settings and calibration standards.
Troubleshoot SMT assembly defects and equipment malfunctions.
Collaborate with procurement to evaluate components and suppliers.
Develop process documentation and work instructions for SMT operations.
Conduct process audits and quality assessments for standards compliance.
Train production staff on SMT techniques and safety.
