Job summary

VTech Communications (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior SMT Engineer for PCBA production and process improvement in Muar, Johor. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in SMT production lines, troubleshooting, and driving process improvements to meet production targets.

You will work with cross-functional teams, optimize SMT processes (solder paste printing, SPI, pick & place, reflow, AOI), and provide on-site support during critical production periods.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years hands-on experience in SMT/PCBA/Electronics Manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of SMT machines, feeders, and placement issues.
• Experience in SMT process parameter optimization, yield improvement, defect reduction.
• Proven troubleshooting of soldering defects, AOI issues, misalignment, and component rejection.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to drive corrective actions.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate hands-on SMT production, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
• Identify production issues with cross-functional teams and implement improvements.
• Provide on-site production support, including during critical production situations.
• Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams.
