Job summary

Hong Leong Bank in Malaysia is seeking a Community Banking Manager (SME) to grow the ETB SME base among retail community businesses and to bring in NTB customers to the branch through visits and roadshows. You will promote a range of products including merchant services, deposits, secured and unsecured loans, and investments.

You will work closely with Branch Managers and Area Managers to deepen SME penetration while ensuring compliance with KYC/AML and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years in sales experience or minimum 2 years in SME lending (products, evaluation of business viability, basic understanding of company balance sheet and P&L) or min 3 years in sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Grow the Existing to Bank (ETB) SME base of retail community businesses (sole prop, partnerships, or Sdn Bhds) with AST below RM10m.
• Acquire NTB customers for the branch via community visits, roadshows, or other branch-based sales activities.
• Lead acquisition through products: merchant services, deposits, secured loans, unsecured products, BANCA, investments.
• Assist ETB customers to set up Hong Leong Connect/ConnectBiz for online payments and payroll.
• Understand SME lending requirements to evaluate and submit loan applications.
• Collaborate with Branch Managers and Area Manager to grow segment penetration and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with FSA, KYC, AMLA and internal policies.
