Job summary

Allozymes in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia, seeks an experienced automation engineer to lead production-floor workflow optimization and data connectivity across PLCs, SCADA, and MES interfaces. Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in an engineering discipline with automation/smart manufacturing focus.
• 8+ years in factory automation or related automation engineering roles.
• Hands-on Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation experience for modeling and analysis.
• Experience with production-floor troubleshooting across controls, SCADA, and IT/OT layers.
• Knowledge of Ignition, OPC UA, MQTT/Sparkplug and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-floor workflow, capacity, material-flow, and resource-utilization studies.
• Develop discrete-event simulation models and scenario logic for lines, equipment, and processes.
• Conduct what-if, bottleneck, and line-balancing analyses to optimize layouts and capacity.
• Translate simulation results into actionable recommendations for layout and automation.
• Define machine connectivity and data requirements for new automation equipment.
• Coordinate integration with Ignition SCADA for visualization and data collection.
• Develop standardized tag structures, data models, and UNS-aligned conventions.
• Support connectivity via OPC UA, MQTT, Sparkplug B, and industrial Ethernet.
• Ensure suppliers provide integration-ready equipment with proper interfaces and tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Develop verification plans for performance, connectivity, and system integration.
