Job summary

Oriental Sunrise Engineering Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Safety Supervisor to support on-site safety supervision tasks at construction sites.

You will report to the SHO/Safety Manager and assist the safety department to ensure safe operations and regulatory compliance. Key duties include inspecting and rectifying unsafe conditions, correcting unsafe practices, coordinating with subcontractors' safety supervisors, and maintaining DOSH/DOE/BOMBA compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a relevant field required.
• Certified and valid Yellow Book Holder.
• Minimum 2 years of safety-related experience in construction.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin preferred.
• Able to work 6 days weekly on site.
• Malaysian local candidate only.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and rectify unsafe conditions at the construction site.
• Correct any unsafe practices observed on site.
• Check sub-contractors' work for compliance with applicable laws and regs.
• Liaise with contractor's safety supervisors regarding sub-contractor safety.
• Advise and implement safety compliance and continuous improvement as required.
• Regularly review and update safety policies and procedures.
• Manage administration of legal documentation and monitor compliance with DOSH/DOE/BOMBA and related bodies.
• Perform other duties as required by the company.

Job description

Report to SHO/Safety Manager and assist the safety department on site safety supervision tasks at construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and rectify any unsafe conditions at the construction site
• Correct any unsafe practices
• Check sub-contractors' work to ensure compliance with the Act and the Regulations made thereunder
• Liaise with contractor's safety supervisors appointed under Regulation 26 with respect to safety of work undertaken by sub-contractors
• Advise, implement, compliance and continuous improvement for company's security, safety and health and its related matters in accordance to statutory and regulatory requirements and standard requirements
• Conduct regular reviews of the Company's safety policies and initiate updates of procedures whenever necessary
• Manage administration of legal documentation and monitor all jobs comply to DOSH, DOE, BOMBA and related government bodies in accordance to their legal requirements and standards
• Perform other duties as and when required by the company

About you

• Possess at least a Diploma
• Obtain certified and valid Yellow Book Holder
• At least 2 years of working experience in the related field
• Able to work in stressful environment and have sense of urgency to respond to all relevant parties within stipulated timeline
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Able to work 6 days weekly and work at site
• Working experience in industrial projects is an advantage
• Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin. Candidates who are proficient in Chinese language will be priorities due to needs liaise with China Team & HQ.
