Job summary

Savelite Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in Penang is seeking a Safety Officer to help implement and maintain Occupational Health & Safety standards at project sites, ensuring a safe working environment.

You will conduct regular inspections, organize evacuation drills, investigate incidents, raise safety concerns with supervisors, and maintain compliance with legal and internal safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven understanding of Occupational Health & Safety concepts and ISO standards.
• Ability to identify hazards and assess risks at project sites.
• Experience in investigating incidents and reporting findings.
• Knowledge of local safety regulations and organizational policies.
• Strong communication with supervisors and site personnel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining OHS standards at project sites.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards and propose corrective actions.
• Organize and participate in emergency evacuation drills and investigations.
• Raise health and safety concerns with Supervisors and the Project Manager.

Job description

• To handle ISO Documentation.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards at project sites to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and risks, proposing corrective measures to mitigate them.
• Organize and participate in emergency evacuation drills and assist in investigating and reporting workplace accidents or incidents.
• Proactively raise health and safety concerns with Supervisors and the Project Manager, ensuring timely action and resolution.
• Ensure compliance with legal and organizational safety, health and environmental regulations and standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation and records to demonstrate adherence to all applicable safety requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to site personnel on safety procedures and best practices.
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.
