Job summary

Woon Brothers Construction in Johor Bahru seeks a Safety Officer to join our site team, conducting safety inspections, leading toolbox meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA 1994 and related regulations.

The role requires a Site Safety Supervisor license, at least 2 years in construction, and the ability to liaise with authorities. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English and own transport are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of work experience in construction industry.
• Degree or Diploma in Safety and Health or related qualification.
• Valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) Competency License registered with DOSH / JKKP (Yellow book).
• Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Experience dealing with relevant authorities.
• Own transport.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections, safety patrols, and intervention of unsafe conditions.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and safety induction.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967 and related regulations.
• Promote safe conduct of work and ensure PPE usage.
• Review risk assessments for work equipment and operations.
• Report, document, investigate and recommend improvements for accidents.
• Implement safety activities per OSHA and ISO standards.
• Perform other duties as required by superior or management.

Conduct safety inspections, safety patrols, and intervention of unsafe conditions and unsafe acts to correct hazardous conditions in the workplace

Conduct toolbox meetings and safety induction

Ensure provisions of the act and any regulation (OSHA 1994 and FMA 1967) made thereunder are complied with

Promote safe conduct of work, ensure personal protective equipment is worn and rectify hazardous construction methods

Ensure completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations

Ensure that all accidents are reported, documented, investigated and recommended improvement actions

Implement safety activities according to the required Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) and ISO standards

Perform any other duties as and when required by the superior and/or Management

Job requirements

Minimum 2 years of work experience in construction industry
