Job summary

KARISMA PERWIRA SDN BHD invites applications for a Safety Officer to implement the company Quality System and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations across sites.

Responsibilities include conducting safety inductions, site inspections and risk assessments, leading Tool Box Meetings, and coordinating with authorities. You will prepare monthly safety reports, advise management on regulatory changes, and investigate incidents to prevent recurrence.

Responsibilities

• Implement company Quality System policies, activities, and procedures.
• Comply with applicable legal requirements.
• Enforce Occupational Safety & Health Act on all worksites.
• Conduct safety induction and safety briefing for site personnel.
• Inspect worksites, identify hazards, and prepare risk assessments.
• Ensure site safety compliance via audits and NCR reports.
• Carry out regular safety visits, audits and inspections.
• Conduct Tool Box Meetings.
• Liaise with JKKP/DOSH and relevant authorities (e.g., Bomba, Jabatan Kesihatan, CIDB, MITI, PDRM, etc.).
• Prepare monthly Safety Audit Reports for management.
• Advise management on changes in safety legislation and matters related to safety, health, and environment.
• Determine causes of accidents and propose preventive actions.
• Stay updated with codes of practice and safety literature; circulate relevant information to employees at all levels.
• Any other duties assigned by Project Manager/Project Director.

Job description

Implement all policies, activities, procedures, instructions as relevant and required by the Company Quality System.

Comply with legal and other requirements that applicable to the organization.

Enforce Occupational Safety & Health Act (Osha) at all the work site.

Conduct safety induction and safety briefing to site personnel.

Inspect worksite hazard and prepare risk assessment.

Responsible to ensure site safety compliance through site audit and issue NCR reports for compliance.

Carry our regular safety visit, audit and inspection.

Conduct Tool Box Meeting.

Liaise with JKKP/DOSH and authorized department (eg.Bomba, Jabatan Kesihatan, CIDB, MITI, PDRM and etc.).

Prepare monthly Safety Audit Report to the management.

Advise management of changes in safety legislation and all matters pertaining to occupational safety, health and environmental.

Determine the cause of any accident or dangerous occurrence and recommend mean of preventing recurrence.

Keep up-to-date with recommended codes of practice and new safety literature; circulate information applicable to each level of employee.

Any other duties that may be assigned by the Project Manager / Project Director from time to time.
