Job summary

Safar Gemilang Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor to help develop safety policies and ensure adherence to OSH & FMA regulations across site and HQ.

The role involves monitoring compliance, conducting audits, coordinating training with subcontractors, and maintaining emergency response plans while promoting a strong safety culture among workers. Must hold Yellow Book DOSH and have at least 2 years on-site experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Yellow Book DOSH registration.
• At least 2 years of site experience.
• Familiar with safety practices for construction/substation environments.
• Good written and verbal English and Bahasa.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management.
• Team-oriented with flexibility for irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing safety policies in compliance with OSH & FMA act and the company's safety objectives.
• Review and monitor latest compliance requirements and update accordingly.
• Inform Management Representative via written notification on compliance matters.
• Work with Management Representative on compliance issues and prevention measures.
• Attend internal and external auditor queries.
• Implement the Safety Management System at site and HQ level.
• Promote a high level of Safety Management System awareness.
• Identify hazards, assess risks and implement suitable controls.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with SMS requirements.
• Review Job Hazard Analysis before execution.
• Maintain Emergency Response Plan information and ensure communications.
• Ensure first aid and welfare facilities are in good condition.
• Coordinate with Sub-Contractors on training courses for hazards.
• Review SMS to introduce improvements reflecting changing work situations.
• Conduct site safety inspections and submit corrective action reports to HQ.
• Submit monthly Safety and Health Reports to relevant parties.
• Maintain a diary detailing safety activities and instructions.
• Liaise with DOSH, Police and other government agencies on health, safety, and security matters.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, stakeholders and the public.
• Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by superior.

Key responsibilities

Assist the Company in developing safety policies in compliance with the OSH & FMA act, its regulations and the Company's vision and safety objectives

Review and monitor latest legal and other compliance requirements and update accordingly

Inform Management Representative via written notification on compliance matters

Actively work with Management Representative on compliance issues and prevention measures

Attend internal and external auditor queries

Implement the requirements of the Safety Management System at site and headquarters level

Promote a high level of Safety Management System awareness

Identify hazards, assess risks and implement suitable control measures to eliminate dangers

Ensure subcontractors comply with Safety Management System requirements

Review Job Hazard Analysis before execution

Maintain information on Emergency Response Plan and ensure relevant communication is distributed to responsible parties

Ensure first aid and welfare facilities for workers are in good condition

Coordinate with Sub-Contractors on training courses for unfamiliar or hazardous operations

Review Safety Management System to introduce improvements and amendments reflecting changing work situations

Conduct site safety inspections and recommend corrective actions for unsafe acts and conditions by submitting written reports to HQ

Submit monthly Safety and Health Reports to relevant parties

Maintain a diary detailing safety activities, hazardous works, housekeeping and safety instructions

Liaise with DOSH, Police and other relevant government agencies on health, safety and security matters

Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, stakeholders and the public

Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by superior

About you

Valid Yellow Book holder registered with Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH)

At least two (2) years working experience at site and/or assignment exposure

Familiar with standard concepts and best practices for construction/substation/environment for both safety and administration

Good writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa

Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time

Team work capability

Valid driving license

Able to work irregular hours to accomplish urgent shipment and/or pending assignments when requested

Possess valid certification for JKKP Scaffolding inspection on daily basis

Certified & valid AGTES will be a definite advantage
