Metronic Engineering Sdn Bhd invites applications for a Full-time on-site Safety Officer. You will conduct safety inspections, enforce OSHA compliance, perform risk assessments, and lead safety trainings at project sites.
The role requires knowledge of HIRARC, PTW, ERP, and strong communication. Fresh graduates or 1–3 years in safety roles in construction are welcome; ISO 45001 familiarity is a plus.

Conduct regular safety inspections and workplace audits to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviours and potential hazards. Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), relevant regulations, client requirements and the Company's Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Management System. Implement, monitor and continuously improve safety policies, procedures and work instructions at project sites. Advise, educate and remind employees, supervisors, subcontractors and visitors on safe work practices and statutory safety requirements. Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments (HIRARC/JSA) and recommend appropriate control measures to eliminate or minimise risks. Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, induction programmes and safety awareness campaigns for employees, contractors and visitors. Monitor and ensure the proper use, maintenance and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment. Inspect machinery, equipment, lifting tools, electrical equipment and work areas to ensure they comply with safety requirements before use. Monitor work activities and enforce compliance with approved safe work procedures, method statements and Permit to Work (PTW) requirements. Issue Safety Observation Reports (SOR), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and Stop Work Orders (SWO) whenever unsafe conditions or unsafe work practices are identified. Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses, determine root causes and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Maintain and update all safety documentation, including inspection records, incident reports, HIRARC, training records, safety statistics and regulatory documentation. Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports for submission to the Assistant General Manager and Management. Coordinate emergency preparedness activities including emergency drills, evacuation exercises and emergency response planning. Monitor subcontractors' safety performance and ensure compliance with project safety requirements. Liaise with clients, consultants, government authorities (e.g. DOSH/JKKP, CIDB, BOMBA) and external auditors on all matters relating to safety and health. Participate in internal and external SHE audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings. Verify that all workers possess valid competency certificates, licences and statutory certifications required for their work. Attend SHE Committee meetings and assist in implementing actions arising from committee discussions. Promote a positive safety culture through continuous coaching, communication and employee engagement. Carry out any other duties assigned by the Assistant General Manager or Management from time to time.
Pay: RM4,000.00 per month
