Job summary

KCJ ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. seeks an engineering professional to assist planning, coordinating and monitoring diverse projects in Malaysia. You will ensure works comply with drawings, specs and contract requirements, review technical documents, and coordinate with managers, consultants and site teams.

With 2–5 years of relevant experience, you will read drawings, supervise site activities, and help prepare progress reports while maintaining safety and quality compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant engineering, construction or project management experience.
• Experience in building, infrastructure, engineering or maintenance projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documents.
• Willingness to work at project sites and travel when required.

Job description

Assist in planning, coordinating and monitoring engineering and construction activities throughout the project.

Ensure project works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and contract requirements.

Review technical drawings, specifications, shop drawings and other project documents.

Coordinate with Project Managers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and site teams on technical and project matters.

Monitor project progress, site activities and work schedules to ensure timely completion.

Conduct site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials and compliance with project requirements.

Identify technical issues and site problems and coordinate appropriate solutions.

Coordinate material submissions, inspection requests, technical submissions and other engineering documentation.

Monitor testing, commissioning and rectification works to ensure compliance with approved requirements.

Prepare project reports, progress updates, site records and other technical documentation.

Assist in monitoring project resources, including manpower, materials and equipment, to ensure efficient project execution.

Attend site meetings and provide technical updates on project progress, issues and required actions.

Coordinate with relevant authorities, consultants and project stakeholders when required.

Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable safety, quality, environmental and statutory requirements.

Perform other engineering and project-related duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.

Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in engineering, construction or project management.

Experience in building, infrastructure, engineering or maintenance projects is preferred.

Good knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods and project coordination.

Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documents.

Good understanding of project scheduling, site supervision, quality control and testing procedures.

Strong technical, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Able to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and project teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or relevant engineering software is an advantage.

Detail-oriented, organised and able to manage multiple project activities and deadlines.

Able to work independently and as part of a project team.

Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.
