Job summary

KCJ Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Quality Assurance/Quality Control professional to oversee the CE/ME/QA aspects of construction projects in Malaysia.

The role focuses on ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards throughout all project phases. The candidate will develop and implement QC procedures, write ITPs and method statements, conduct site inspections and coordinate with contractors and consultants to address non-conformities and ensure proper

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quality Management or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance.
• Good knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection methods and testing requirements.
• Familiar with ITP, Method Statements, NCR, inspection checklists and quality documentation.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System is an advantage.

Job description

Monitor and ensure project works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.

Develop and implement project quality control procedures, inspection plans and quality documentation.

Prepare and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, checklists and inspection forms.

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials and construction activities.

Coordinate and witness inspections, testing and commissioning activities with contractors, consultants and relevant parties.

Review material submissions, test certificates, inspection reports and other quality-related documents.

Identify quality issues, defects and non-conformities and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

Issue and monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors, contractors and subcontractors on quality-related matters.

Monitor the quality performance of contractors and subcontractors and ensure compliance with project requirements.

Maintain proper records of inspections, test results, NCRs, corrective actions and quality documentation.

Prepare regular quality reports and provide updates on quality issues and improvement actions.

Assist in internal and external quality audits and ensure audit findings are properly addressed.

Ensure project quality documentation is properly maintained and completed for project handover.

Perform other quality control duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Management or a related field.

Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance, preferably in construction or engineering projects.

Good knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection methods and testing requirements.

Familiar with ITP, Method Statements, NCR, inspection checklists and quality documentation.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System is an advantage.

Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documents.

Good understanding of construction, engineering and site quality requirements.

Strong analytical, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented, organised and able to maintain accurate quality records.

Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams, contractors and consultants.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.
