Job summary

SOLAR SUNYIELD SDN. BHD. is seeking a Site Engineer to support the execution of solar PV projects in Ipoh, Malaysia.

You will collect and verify site information to prepare BOM, BQ, and meet project requirements. You will coordinate logistics, supervise PV installation and construction activities, ensure works follow drawings and timelines, and conduct regular site inspections for workmanship and safety while maintaining quality documentation.

• Supervise and monitor Solar PV installation and construction activities on site.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and site teams to ensure works follow project drawings and timelines.
• Monitor daily site progress and ensure milestones, KPIs and deliverables are achieved.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship and safety.
• Carry out PV system quality control and inspection, including ITP, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain safety procedures, ensure emergency equipment is available and site personnel attendance is recorded.
• Prepare daily/weekly site progress reports to the Project Manager.

Job description

Collect and verify site information to support the preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM), Bill of Quantities (BQ) and project requirements.

Coordinate site logistics, material delivery and ensure materials are available and ready for installation works.

Supervise and monitor the progress of Solar PV installation and construction activities at site.

Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are carried out according to project specifications, drawings and timelines.

Monitor daily site progress and ensure project milestones, KPIs and deliverables are achieved.

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship, installation quality and site conditions meet the required standards.

Carry out Solar PV system quality control and inspection, including ITP, testing, commissioning and related quality documentation.

Assist in the inspection, testing and commissioning of solar PV systems and associated electrical works using appropriate tools and equipment.

Ensure all site workers comply with HSE requirements, safety procedures and industry best practices.

Identify and report potential safety hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.

Ensure all emergency equipment is available, properly maintained and in working condition.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the procurement or ordering of required construction and installation materials.

Ensure all tools, equipment and machinery are in good working condition and suitable for site activities.

Maintain accurate attendance records for construction site personnel.

Review daily construction activities and recommend improvements where necessary.

Prepare and communicate daily/weekly site progress reports to the Project Manager.

Attend site meetings, Toolbox Meetings, coordination meetings and other project-related activities.

Coordinate with the Project Manager and relevant teams to ensure Solar PV projects are completed within the agreed timeline and required quality standards.

Perform first aid and provide assistance during site emergencies where required.

Perform other site engineering duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
