Job summary

QUEST ENERGY SDN BHD is seeking a Project Manager to lead end-to-end solar PV projects in Malaysia, overseeing planning, design coordination, tender bidding, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

You will develop schedules, budgets and resource plans while coordinating with clients, consultants and suppliers. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential to deliver on time, within budget and to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in solar PV, electrical or renewable energy projects, with proven experience managing projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical installations, construction processes and project management.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management tools.
• Willing to travel to project sites as required.
• Added advantage: Experience in commercial/industrial (C&I) solar projects, large-scale solar projects or relevant solar industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end solar PV projects, from planning to handover.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resources and manpower.

• Review and monitor technical drawings, method statements and project docs.
• Conduct regular site inspections for progress, quality, safety and compliance.
• Identify risks and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
• Manage procurement and delivery of modules, inverters, mounting systems and equipment.
• Lead project teams, subcontractors and site personnel to ensure productivity and quality.
• Monitor project costs and optimize utilization of resources.
• Ensure compliance with electrical, solar PV, health & safety and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, performance checks and project handover.
• Prepare progress reports, cost updates and management presentations.
• Maintain strong client relationships and meet expectations throughout the lifecycle.
• Seek opportunities to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness and overall performance.

Job description

Lead and manage end-to-end solar PV projects, from project planning, design coordination, tender bidding, and procurement, and installation through to testing, commissioning and handover.

Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resources and manpower to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Oversee daily project operations and ensure all installation works are carried out according to approved designs, specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.

Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, authorities and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Review and monitor technical drawings, method statements, material specifications and project documentation.

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress, quality, safety and compliance.

Identify potential project risks, technical issues and delays, and implement effective solutions to keep projects on track.

Manage procurement and delivery of solar modules, inverters, mounting systems, electrical equipment and other project materials.

Lead and supervise project teams, subcontractors and site personnel to ensure productivity and work quality.

Monitor project costs and ensure effective utilization of manpower, materials and equipment.

Ensure all projects comply with relevant electrical, solar PV, health & safety and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate testing, commissioning, system performance checks and final project handover.

Prepare regular project progress reports, cost updates and management presentations.

Maintain strong relationships with clients and ensure customer expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Continuously identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, cost effectiveness and overall project performance.

Requirements
