Job summary

Talent Recruit seeks an on-site M&E Engineer to oversee electrical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC and external pipe networks during construction in Pekan Nenas, Johor. You will supervise contractors, review drawings and ensure compliance with local codes and safety standards.

The role requires a diploma or higher and at least five years of local construction experience; on-site representation or supervision is preferred.

• Liaise with Fire & Rescue Department, TNB, Water Dept and CIDB; assist with inspections, power connections and CCC certification.
• Manage change orders, variations and project costs; coordinate cross-trade works and prepare handover documentation

Company Background

We are representing our client a leading global heat shrink manufacturer providing electromechanical insulation solutions for Automotive, Electrical/Utility, Electronics and Communications sectors.

Our client is expanding their footprint into the Malaysian market with the construction of a new factory/facilities in Johor. To support this growth, they are seeking a dedicated on-site professional to oversee construction progress and manage overall site planning.

Site Location: Pekan Nenas, Johor

M&E Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee progress, quality and safety of the campus electrical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC and external pipe network installation works.

• Review construction methodologies, drawings and material quotations; supervise contractors, supervisors and subcontractors to execute works per approved drawings and local codes.

• Liaise with local authorities including Fire & Rescue Department, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Water Supply Department and CIDB; assist with inspections, power connection, water supply and CCC (Certificate of Completion and Compliance) certification.

• Manage engineering change orders, variation claims and project costs; coordinate cross‑trade works, organize inspections and facilitate final handover.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Installation or related disciplines.

• Minimum 5 years of local construction experience in Malaysia; experience as the company's representative or supervisor is preferred.

• Proven full‑cycle delivery experience for at least one complete local project (from commencement to final acceptance and handover).

• Familiarity with local construction codes and government approval procedures.
