Job summary

Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Site Energy Design Engineer (Solar) to develop and optimize site power systems and solar energy installations for base transceiver stations.

You will perform audits, create electrical diagrams and coordinate design of PV/solar components. The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering with solar energy experience, proficiency in CAD and calculation software, and the ability to travel overseas as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Experience with solar energy systems preferred.
• Proficient with design and calculation software; familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan site power/solar energy system development, monitoring and evaluation.
• Conduct site audits for structure, electrical and related data for base transceiver station power systems.
• Design or coordinate site power/solar systems including PV/solar thermal components.
• Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules and connection diagrams using CAD.
• Provide technical direction during installation, start-up, testing and commissioning.

Job description

Site Energy Design Engineer (Solar) - GSRC

Create plans for site power system/solar energy system development, monitoring, and evaluation activities.

Conduct engineering site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for use in the design of base transceiver station site power system/solar power systems.

Design or coordinate design of site power system, photovoltaic (PV) or solar thermal systems, including system components, for base transceiver station.

Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for site power/solar electric systems, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.

Provide technical direction or support to installation teams during installation, start-up, testing, system commissioning, or performance monitoring.

Perform computer simulation of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation system performance or energy production to optimize efficiency.

Develop standard operation procedures and quality or safety standards for site power/solar installation work.

Create checklists for review or inspection of completed site power/solar installation projects.

Job Requirements

A degree in Electrical Engineering; MSc is a plus

Proven expertise as an electrical engineer, experience of working with solar energy systems is a plus

Hands-on experience using design and calculation software

Proficient in MS Project, MS Office, Auto-cad and etc

Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards

Working experience in telecommunication field would be an advantage.

Meticulous, independent and able to work within tight deadlines

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good analytical and problem-solving skills

Willing to travel oversea.
