Job summary

Woh Hup Group in Kulai, Johor, is seeking a Design / Site Engineer (MEP) for hyperscale data center projects. You will supervise MEP design coordination, site execution, and commissioning, bridging design intent with field installation to ensure reliability and compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design & coordination: review MEP drawings, SLDs, and vendor submittals; resolve 3D clashes with BIM.
• Site supervision: oversee day-to-day installation of MV/LV electrical, UPS, generators, chillers, CRAH, BMS, and fire suppression.
• Quality & compliance: inspect works for spec compliance, handle RFIs/NCRs, enforce QA/QC & safety.
• Testing & commissioning: support Level 1–5 Cx, pre-energization checks, load-bank testing, IST.
• Handover: review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and authority clearances (Bomba, ST, SPAN).

Position Overview

Supervise MEP design coordination, site execution, and commissioning for hyperscale data center construction in Kulai. Bridge design intent with field installation while ensuring compliance with local codes and mission-critical reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Coordination: Review MEP drawings, SLDs, and vendor submittals. Work with BIM modelers to resolve 3D clashes (MEP vs. Structure/Arch) before site execution.
• Site Supervision: Oversee day-to-day installation of MV/LV electrical systems, UPS, generators, chillers, CRAH units, BMS, and fire suppression systems.
• Quality & Compliance: Inspect site works for specification compliance, handle RFIs/NCRs, and enforce safety and QA/QC standards.
• Testing & Commissioning: Support Levels 1–5 Commissioning (Cx), including pre-energization checks, load-bank testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Handover: Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and authority clearances (Bomba, ST, SPAN).

Requirements

• Education: Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience: 3+ years in MEP site engineering or design coordination. Data center, industrial, or high-tech facility experience required.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of MV/LV power distribution, cooling loops, ASHRAE guidelines, and local codes (UBBL/ST/Bomba). Proficient in AutoCAD and Navisworks.
