Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC or related engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years in Data Centre MEP project management.
• Hands-on on-site construction, T&C and handover experience.
• Solid UPS, diesel gensets, chillers knowledge for data centres.
• Experience with Data Centre EPCs or mission-critical infra suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end data centre projects across SEA from design reviews to client handover.
• Manage equipment procurement, subcontractors, and on-site commissioning.
• Control schedules, budgets, quality, EHS compliance and profitability.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, PMC, main contractors, and authorities.
• Lead site teams, resolve on-site technical issues and mitigate risks.

Our client, a leading provider of integrated modular data centre solutions in Southeast Asia, is expanding its regional project footprint and seeking a sharp, delivery-focused Deputy Project Manager to join their engineering leadership team, an experienced MEP Project Manager with hands-on experience taking data centre projects from ground installation through Testing & Commissioning (T&C) and client handover

Scope: Regional Data Centre Projects across Southeast Asia

End-to-End Delivery: Oversee high-stakes data centre projects across Southeast Asia—from design reviews and procurement to site construction, T&C, and final client acceptance.

Site & MEP Management: Manage equipment procurement, subcontractor selection, and hands-on site execution for mission-critical MEP infrastructure.

Project Governance: Control project schedules, budgets, quality standards, EHS compliance, and profitability.

Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the core point of contact for clients, consultants, PMC, main contractors, vendors, and local authorities.

Team Leadership & Problem Solving: Lead and mentor site execution teams, tackle complex on-site technical issues, and drive project risk mitigation.

What We Are Looking For

• Malaysian citizens or residents looking to drive world-class data centre infrastructure growth in Johor / SEA.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of project management experience specifically in Data Centre MEP projects. Hands-On Expertise: Proven experience in on-site construction, T&C, and handover (not purely design-focused).
• Mission-Critical Systems: Solid technical understanding of UPS systems, diesel generators, chillers, and associated data centre MEP infrastructure.
• Background: Prior experience with Data Centre EPCs, MEP main contractors, modular data centre builders, or mission-critical infrastructure suppliers.
• Communication & Mobility: Excellent English skills; regional project exposure and willingness to support SEA projects is a strong plus.
