Job summary

Hapag-Lloyd Business Services (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd is seeking an IT Help Desk professional to provide day-to-day troubleshooting and support for laptops, printers, LAN/WAN connectivity, and telephony.

The role involves first-level support, hardware installation, asset management, and user access assistance. Night shifts are required; candidates should be able to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification required.
• 2–4 years of relevant IT infrastructure and end-user support experience.
• Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, hardware, software, servers and Windows OS.
• Experience with IT hardware installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Able to work independently or in a team; work under pressure; shift work; good English skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides first level help desk support and collaborates with the IT Service Desk.
• Installs and configures laptops and software as needed.
• Maintains IT assets inventory and tracks hardware lifecycle.
• Delivers training on hardware and software when required.
• Supports user access, identity and authorization management.
• Assists end users with inquiries and problem resolution.
• Oversees facility installations and coordinates technicians, contractors and other installations.

Job description

Important:

Main Objective:

Takes responsibility for day-to-day troubleshooting and support for laptops, printers, LAN/WAN connectivity, and telephone-related issues.

Function and duties:

Provides first level help desk support and works closely with the Information Technology Service Desk (ITSD).

Installs and configures laptops and installs software.

Handles IT assets inventory control.

Provides training on hardware and software as needed.

Supports user authorization, access request and user identity.

Supports end users with issues and inquiries.

Support facility management by overseeing control activities, including coordinating all installations (telecommunications, technicians, groundskeepers, and external contractors).

Job Requirements:

Degree or equivalent qualification.

At least 2-4 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and end-user support, preferably within a multinational company.

Good knowledge of LAN and WAN networks, hardware and software, servers, and Windows operating systems.

Experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of IT hardware, including printers, mobile phones and other peripheral devices.

Proficient in MS Office applications.

Able to work independently as well as in a team

Able to work under pressure

Willing and able to work on shift schedules

Good command of spoken and written English
