Job summary

Comet Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd, based in Penang, is seeking a Shift Lead - Test to complement our Plasma Control Technologies division. The role focuses on HR, payroll processing, attendance management, and day-to-day employee relations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will supervise attendance and leave records, handle disciplinary matters, and ensure timely payroll processing while upholding confidentiality and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma in HR, Business Administration or related field; a Bachelor’s degree in HR is an advantage.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in HR, payroll or employee relations.
• Strong experience in attendance management, disciplinary procedures and payroll processing.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Self-motivated, flexible and solution-oriented with strong teamwork and ability to work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee attendance, working hours, overtime, leave and MC records, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
• Monitor and handle disciplinary matters, complaints and grievances, guiding on policy and conduct.
• Support accurate and timely month-end payroll and allowance processing, including attendance reporting.
• Ensure compliance with policies and labour requirements while maintaining confidentiality of attendance, medical and salary data.
• Act as first point of contact for attendance, leave, disciplinary and payroll matters, collaborating with Production and HR.

Shift Lead - Test

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What you will do

• - Manage employee attendance, working hours, overtime, leave and medical leave (MC) records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• - Monitor and handle employee disciplinary matters, complaints and grievances, providing guidance on company policies and expected conduct.
• - Support accurate and timely month-end payroll and allowance processing, including attendance and payroll-related reporting.
• - Ensure compliance with company policies and labour requirements while maintaining confidentiality of employee, attendance, medical and salary information.
• - Act as the first point of contact for employees on attendance, leave, disciplinary and payroll matters, working closely with Production and HR.

What you bring

• - Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree in HR or a relevant field is an advantage.
• - 2–3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in HR, payroll or employee relations.
• - Strong experience in attendance management, disciplinary procedures and payroll processing.
• - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with good proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• - Self-motivated, flexible and solution-oriented, with a strong teamwork mindset and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
