Job summary

Comet Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Penang, is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for its Plasma Control Technologies division. The role focuses on leading quality processes, audits, and corrective actions to secure high-quality assemblies for memory chips, sensors, and displays.

You will drive PFMEA, SPC, OCAP, and cross-functional collaboration with Production, Engineering and Purchasing while ensuring compliance with global quality standards. Strong English and analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 5+ years of quality experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PFMEA, 8D/RCCA, NCR, CAPA, MRB, SPC, OCAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage outgoing quality control, visual inspections, and final product buy-off to ensure assemblies meet specifications.
• Lead 8D, RCCA, NCR, and CAPA activities to investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct regular process audits and Lam POR self-audits to ensure compliance with processes and standards.
• Support PFMEA, SPC, and OCAP activities to identify risks and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality teams to resolve issues and support ISO 9001 audits.

To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and teamoriented individual for our division Plasma Control Technologies at the Penang site.

Senior Quality Engineer

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You Will Do

• Manage outgoing quality control, visual inspections, and final product buy-off to ensure assemblies and finished goods meet required specifications.
• Lead 8D, RCCA, NCR, and CAPA activities to investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct regular process audits, including Lam POR self-audits, and ensure consistent compliance with defined processes and quality standards.
• Support PFMEA, SPC, and OCAP activities to identify process risks, monitor quality performance, and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality teams to resolve escalated issues and support customer and ISO 9001 audits.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline, with 5+ years of relevant quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of PFMEA, 8D/RCCA, NCR, CAPA, MRB, process audits, SPC, and OCAP.
• Solid understanding of Copy Exact principles and effective root cause investigation and problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with good English proficiency and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Experience with SAP, Minitab, JMP, Power BI, and SPC tools is an advantage, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
