Job summary

ICHOR Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the Shared Services Procurement team and ensure cost-effective, compliant procurement support across the organization. The role collaborates with Finance, Operations, Engineering, HR and IT to meet business needs.

Responsibilities include overseeing sourcing, negotiation, supplier management, and process improvements while aligning with company policies and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Finance or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of procurement or supply chain experience, with supervisory experience.
• Strong experience in sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, and procurement operations.
• Experience managing procurement services for multiple departments/sites is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Good understanding of procurement policies, internal controls, and commercial practices.
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Shared Services Procurement team.
• Manage procurement activities including sourcing, quotations, PRs, POs, and supplier coordination.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships and manage supplier performance.
• Lead sourcing and negotiation to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, approvals, and controls.
• Monitor spend, savings, trends, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Engineering, HR, IT and others on procurement needs.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate purchases and improve efficiency.
• Standardize processes and promote best practices across locations.
• Lead continuous improvement and automation initiatives in procurement.
• Resolve issues with suppliers and invoicing in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Coach and develop procurement staff; build capability and service delivery.
• Prepare procurement reports and recommendations for management.
• Support audits and ensure proper procurement documentation.

The role will oversee procurement operations, supplier management, sourcing activities, and process improvement while ensuring alignment with company policies and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Shared Services Procurement team.


• Manage procurement activities including sourcing, quotation, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier coordination.


• Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships and support supplier performance management.


• Lead sourcing and negotiation activities to achieve cost savings and favorable commercial terms.


• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval processes, and internal controls.


• Monitor procurement spend, savings, purchasing trends, and key performance indicators.


• Work closely with Finance, Operations, Engineering, HR, IT, and other business functions to understand and support their procurement needs.


• Identify opportunities to consolidate purchases, improve purchasing efficiency, and reduce overall procurement costs.


• Standardize procurement processes and promote best practices across business functions and locations.


• Lead continuous improvement and automation initiatives within the procurement function.


• Resolve procurement, supplier, pricing, delivery, and invoice-related issues in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.


• Develop and coach procurement team members to improve capability, performance, and service delivery.


• Prepare procurement reports, analysis, and recommendations for management.


• Support audits and ensure appropriate procurement documentation and records are maintained.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.


• Typically 7-10 years of procurement or supply chain experience, with relevant managerial or supervisory experience.


• Strong experience in sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, and procurement operations.


• Experience managing procurement services for multiple departments, sites, or business units is preferred.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.


• Good understanding of procurement policies, internal controls, and commercial practices.


• Experience with ERP/procurement systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar systems is preferred.


• Ability to lead a team and work effectively with stakeholders across different functions and levels.
