Job summary

Unknown company in Malaysia seeks a Procurement Engineer to source and qualify suppliers for motors, actuators, sensors, and structural parts. You will prepare RFQs, analyze proposals, manage POs, and track fulfillment.

Collaborate with R&D to align BOMs, negotiate terms, and monitor supplier performance. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and extensive procurement experience; ERP proficiency a must.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 25 years of relevant procurement experience (preferably in engineering or construction).
• Strong understanding of technical drawings and material specifications.
• Proficient in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent negotiation skills for pricing, contracts, and delivery terms.
• Analytical skills for cost analysis, supplier evaluation, and risk assessment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management.
• Familiarity with procurement regulations and documentation procedures.
• Ability to manage procurement timelines and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for mechanical & electrical components (e.g., motors, actuators, sensors, structural parts).
• Prepare and issue RFQs, analyze proposals, manage purchase orders, and track order fulfillment.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering to align BOMs and procure prototypes or sample components.
• Negotiate supplier terms, including lead times, MOQ, and pricing.
• Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost) and resolve discrepancies or delays.
• Maintain records of pricing, supplier evaluations, and procurement data; ensure ERP entries.
• Support NPI initiatives and production ramp-up through proactive material planning.
