ABOUT THE ROLE
ASSB is an established Malaysian medical and laboratory equipment company supporting hospitals, laboratories, universities and healthcare organisations nationwide.
We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join our Technical Team, based at our Puchong office. This role takes ownership of complex installations, commissioning, troubleshooting and technical leadership on medical and laboratory equipment projects, while mentoring junior technicians.
ABOUT YOU
Qualification: Diploma / Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
Experience: Minimum 5 years in servicing medical devices or laboratory equipment
Focus: Advanced troubleshooting, complex repairs, and technical ownership of assigned accounts
Installation: Lead installations and commissioning independently
Maintenance: Perform advanced preventive maintenance, calibration and repairs
Customer Support: Serve as primary technical point of contact for key accounts
Documentation: Prepare technical reports, service documentation and escalation records
Projects: Lead equipment rollout and implementation projects
Mentoring: Guide and train junior Technicians in the field
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead installation, commissioning and validation of medical and laboratory equipment.
Perform advanced-level troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs beyond first-line service.
Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with manufacturer standards.
Handle escalated technical issues from Technicians and resolve independently.
Liaise directly with hospital/lab stakeholders on technical matters and service expectations.
Conduct equipment demonstrations, user training and product familiarisation sessions.
Support tender and project technical requirements, including site assessments and specifications.
Mentor, coach and provide on-the-job technical guidance to junior Technicians.
Prepare detailed service reports, root-cause analyses and technical documentation.
Coordinate with principals (e.g. manufacturers) on technical bulletins, recalls and firmware/software updates.
COMMON RESPONSIBILITIES
Service Engineers will:
Travel to hospitals, laboratories and healthcare facilities nationwide as assigned.
Follow ASSB SOPs, manufacturer procedures and safety requirements.
Maintain professional customer relationships at senior/technical stakeholder level.
Participate in manufacturer-certified and internal technical training, including advanced/specialist certifications.
Support product demonstrations and customer training.
Maintain accurate and audit-ready service documentation.
Participate in technical meetings, project reviews and knowledge-sharing.
Continuously develop technical knowledge and stay current with new equipment/technology.
Maintain professional conduct when representing ASSB.

Requirements:
Diploma / Degree in a relevant engineering field.
Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience servicing medical devices or laboratory equipment.
Proven experience with complex installations, calibration and independent troubleshooting.
Prior experience with a medical device distributor, laboratory equipment supplier or manufacturer strongly preferred.
Strong customer-facing and communication skills, with experience managing key accounts.
Experience mentoring or supervising junior technical staff is an advantage.
Willing to travel extensively to sites nationwide.
Valid Malaysian driving licence and own transportation (car preferred due to equipment/tool transport needs).
