Job summary

Sealed Air Singapore is seeking a Service Engineer to install, commission, service, and train on the full range of Sealed Air packaging equipment. The role includes emergency repairs at customer sites and may involve international travel based on project needs.

Primary focus is servicing customers in Singapore and Johor Bahru, Malaysia, with weekend roster coverage. A diploma/bachelor’s in engineering and strong PLC, electrical, and mechanical knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree (hons.) in mechanical / electrical / mechatronics engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing or service-based industry.
• Demonstrated equipment installation experience; packaging machinery is a plus.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Ability to work in a sole charge position.
• Willing to travel away from home regularly and on a roster for weekends.
• Proven communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Computer literacy, especially Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge with PLCs (Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley) would be advantages.
• Pneumatics system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise installation/commissioning of Sealed Air equipment at the customer's packaging plant.
• Maintain servicing requirements and reporting for all equipment within responsibility.
• Manage emergency breakdown repairs; willingness to support weekends and public holidays.
• Customer invoicing for servicing equipment and spare parts.
• Conduct material and equipment audits with the Sales Department.
• Develop strong customer service relationships to expand equipment and service business.
• Control spare parts stock and manage service tools kits for the state responsibility.
• Strict compliance to OHS policies and related SOPs.
• Prepare and distribute customer service reports for all service work undertaken.
• Maintain and update all record systems relating to customer equipment.

Role Purpose

Sealed Air Singapore is looking for a Service Engineer! The role will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and training on the complete range of Sealed Air packaging equipment. Carry out emergency breakdown repairs on our customer's Sealed Air equipment.

You'll also contribute to equipment sales and proposals, material and equipment audits, systems applications projects and competitor analysis.

The primary responsibility for the position is to service Sealed Air customers within Singapore and Johor Bahru, Malaysia. There could be international travel depending on the project criticality.

What You'll Do

• Supervise the installation/commissioning of Sealed Air equipment into customer's packaging plant
• Maintain the equipment servicing requirements and reporting of all Sealed air equipment within allocated responsibility.
• Manage the emergency breakdown repairs to customer's equipment. Willingness to support during weekend and public holidays.
• Customer invoicing for servicing equipment and spare parts.
• Conduct material and equipment audits with the Sales Department.
• Develop a strong customer service relationship to expand our existing equipment and service business.
• Control the spare parts stock and manage the service tools kits for your allocated state responsibility.
• Strict compliance to Sealed Air OHS policies including: Risk Assessment, JSA's SOPs, JSRA's etc.
• Prepare and distribute customer service reports for all service work undertaken.
• Maintain and update all record systems relating to our customer's equipment.

Person Profile We're Looking For

• Diploma or bachelor's degree (hons.) in mechanical / electrical / mechatronics engineering
• Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or service-based industry.
• Demonstrated equipment installation experience, experience with packaging machinery is a plus.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Ability to work in a sole charge position.
• Able to work flexible hours and days which will include weekends on a roster style basis.
• Prepared to travel away from home on a regular basis.
• Proven communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Computer literacy is essential especially with word and excel.
• Product knowledge of packaging materials and equipment is desirable.
• Understanding with electrical diagram and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge with PLC (Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi and Allen Bradleys) would be advantages.
