Job summary

ASUS Malaysia is seeking an experienced Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support server, storage and data center solutions. You will deliver expert guidance during pre-sales, installation, and post-sales support, ensuring customer success.

The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of x86 servers, BMC/IPMI, Linux/Windows Server, and networking, with excellent English communication. You will collaborate with Sales, Product and Engineering to meet client needs and drive product improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an FAE or technical support role in servers, storage, or data center industries, or 5 years PC experience in FAE role.
• Strong understanding of x86 server architectures, BMC/IPMI management, Linux/Windows Server environments, and networking protocols.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to diagnose complex hardware/software interoperability issues in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level technical guidance to clients throughout the product lifecycle.
• Assist customers in configuring and tuning server architectures with focus on thermal management and firmware optimization.
• Act as first line of defense for field escalations, performing RCA and coordinating with R&D.
• Present new product features, roadmaps, and best practices to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to meet client requirements.

Job description

• Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical guidance to clients throughout the product lifecycle, including pre-sales consultation, system integration, and post-sales troubleshooting.
• System Optimization: Assist customers in configuring and tuning high-performance server architectures, with a focus on thermal management, power efficiency, and firmware optimization.
• Issue Resolution: Act as the first line of defense for critical field escalations, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinating with internal R&D teams to implement timely solutions.
• Product Advocacy: Act as a technical subject matter expert, presenting new product features, roadmaps, and technical best practices to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to ensure client requirements are met and to provide feedback for future product iterations.

Qualifications :

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an FAE or technical support role within the server, storage, or data center industry. OR with 5 years PC experience in FAE role or technical support.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of x86 server architectures, BMC/IPMI management, Linux/Windows Server environments, and networking protocols. Experience with AI/HPC infrastructure (GPU-accelerated systems) is a significant advantage.
• Communication: Fluent in English (both written and verbal) with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including IT managers and system architects.
• Problem-Solving: Proven track record of diagnosing complex hardware/software interoperability issues in mission-critical environments.
